Is this website a scam? No. We are an American owned and operated company registered with both state and federal agencies. Additionally, since your purchase is made directly on the company's website, we do not retain any of your personal information nor have access to your order.

Is the call or message that I received from you requesting money a scam? The message is most likely a scam. We are paid directly by the companies that participate on this site, not the consumer. We will never reach out to you directly and ask for money. Our company does have a link to a PayPal account that does accept funding to help with the site's expenses, but that is completely voluntary.

Why is the site called "No Bad Candy"? While we were always happy to aid with fundraisers, sometimes the items (mostly chocolates) we were required to purchase were disappointing. That sparked the idea to find a way to continue to fund these worthy causes but to do so with items that we want or needed.

How does this site work? Once you've selected the nonprofit from the list on the Nonprofit tab, copy the Referral Code. Once you have this code, visit the website of one of the companies listed on the Participating Companies tab. Shop as you normally would. But, when you checkout, apply the Referral Code where the Coupon or Discount Code option is. That's it on your part. The participating company will then forward a referral fee to us based on the purchase that you made, and that fee will be forwarded to the nonprofit organization associated with the Referral Code that you selected minus expenses.

When will the nonprofit receive their money? In short, it varies. We've instructed the companies to only forward the referral fee when the sale is finalized. This is dependent on the type of purchase you've made, and that individual company's return policies and their accounting practices. 

 

Why are only certain nonprofits listed on your site? We decided that the baseline for any nonprofit listed on our site would be that they are "Accredited" by Give.org. No, we are not associated with Give.org, so we are unable to confirm the accuracy of the information listed on their site nor make any recommendations. Why isn't my favorite company listed on your site? Most likely it's because we haven't been in communication with each other. Or it's possible that they may be part of an industry that we are unable to work with. How do you get paid? We are a for-profit company and are paid through advertising on our site and social media accounts, from a PayPal account that you may gift to, and from a percentage of the referral fee that we hold back for expenses. What a company pays in referral fees may vary based on the individual items/services sold.
